Synopsis:

Shan Cai is a hardworking girl who has many jobs just to support her family and for herself. She lives in a broken down house along with her two parents. Even though her family is poor, she manages to get into Ying De University where all of the rich (stuck-up) people go to school. Most common students who are rich include the group F4, who is the most popular and definitely the most wealthiest out of all the students in Ying De University. After befriending a girl in her school, her friend soon gets into a negative situation with Dao Ming Si the leader of F4. Being as protective as Shan Cai is, she stood up to her new friend and gets herself in trouble. The next day she gets the red note (You will be dead- F4). What is worst is that Dao Meng Si seems to be smitten by Shan Cai. Can she withstand F4 and defeat them?

Review:

This drama also aired in the Philippines, but instead of Mandarin was dubbed in Tagalog. When I went to the Philippines to visit my cousins, that was probably when I first got introduced to this drama. All of my cousins were watching the drama, but I didn't really seem to get the storyline since I only watched the middle of the series while at the Philippines. Once I got home to watch from beginning to end, I fell in love with the drama. Haha, I guess it's a bit weird to like a drama so much but it was a really good drama I'm sure of it. Some parts were not that realistic like the fights they've been having, but all in all the episodes had really good plots. Rainie Yang only had a small role in this drama. I hated how her hair looked in this drama, and of her lack of acting abilities. Don't get me wrong though, I really do like Rainie Yang as a singer/actress, but just not in this drama. Probably because it was one of her first roles as an actress after being disbanded from her girl group. Barbie's role as Shan Cai made her become more famous, from what I believe. She really is a good actress, having to do all of those crying scenes and being able to remember all of those lines by heart. Jerry Yan was pretty amazing ;) LOL. But yeah, I really did like him playing Dao Ming Si, especially when his character became more childish to Shan Cai when he was revealing his true feelings towards her. I like the Japanese/Korean a little bit more than the Taiwanese, but it's still worth while to watch.
