Synopsis:

Xiao Mai (Angela Zhang) lives in a broken down house along with her very poor parents. One day she is discovered and finds out that she is really Huangfu Shan, the long lost grand daugter of Huangfu Xiong also known as EMP. She goes and lives with his at his palace along with others in the Huangfu family. Not only does she have to leave her family but she must get married to Nan Feng Jin, who from the start disliked her appearance once they've met. He doesn't believe that a poor girl like her can actually be the long lost grand daughter, and refuses to marry her because he has other dreams in life. EMP is already as his limits about Nan Feng Jin and threatens that he will lose everything if he disobeys his orders. Since he has finally found his long lost grand daugther, he will certainly not take any risks to lose her ever again. Xiao Mai wants to believe that she is the real grand daughter, but doesn't know if she can. She has already many struggles like her parents leaving her, and her forced relationship with Nan Feng Jin. Can she be able to uphold the title of Huangfu Xiong's grand daughter and manage to get along with Nan Feng Jin? It all goes down to her role as the princess of the household, with a twisted romance.

Review:

This drama sort of reminds me of Gossip Girl, not because their people in the drama are like the ones who play in Gossip girl. It's just because of the school Xiao Mai has to attend and of the rich status of all the other people around her. Her character being as poor as she was before and then managing to get her way from rags to riches is really something. Everyone seems to be accepting her, except for Nan Feng Jin who dispises her from the start. Jin's character seems to be uptight and serious upon their first meeting. The EMP also has a funny side to him, regardless of how serious he may seem to be. I did find some parts to be a little dragged on like when EMP hired Gong Mo Li to pretend to be the real grand daughter to trick Xiao Mai into thinking that she was indeed the real grand daugter. What is worst is that the ending absolutely sucked....I think that I could have made a way more interesting and lively ending than what was made up by the producers of the series. That is probably why the drama lacked votes near the ending of the whole series, I mean they could have had maybe another two/three more episodes if they made a better ending. However, other than that the characters and story plot where really good. Not as good as It Started with a Kiss, but I'd say it's something to watch :)
